STARTING A SCHOOL
of Christian living, ministry & missions.

When we talk about school, that does not mean you need to have a building.
We are talking about a group of people gathering for training.
It can be under a tree, in a home, at a business, or in a church building.
Of course a school building is okay, but not necessary.

The purpose of the school should be to help
people live and minister in today's world.
It's goal should  not be to provide an academic degree,
but to give every believer an opportunity
to be equipped to fulfill God's purpose for their life.
The school leadership should seek to serve the needs of every believer
many of whom are neglected in the existing way training is done.
It should be led by a team of 3 to 12 trained and equipped individuals.

 STEPS TO ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL

        1.   A team  of people who have a burden for the school comes together and spends 1 or more
days praying and fasting about starting a school.

        2.  Team studies & prays about the problems, strongholds, and local church situation they may face.

        3.   Seek to develop a team of people who are praying for the school. Try to contact them
regularly, and when there are special prayer needs.

        4.   Team sets God given goals for the school.
             A. Every teacher fully equipped for the subjects they are teaching.
(NOTE: Training can be received through BASIC Institute)
             B. One teacher for every 10 to 12 students
             C. Number of people who need to be trained so every person in a particular place or group is
                 ministered to.

        5.  Study guidelines for school of Christian living, ministry, and missions.

        6.  Begin two months school for those interested in full time ministry.
(NOTE: This will help give you staff to train local church members who may not be called
              to full-time ministry.)

        7.  In order to reach as many people as possible the following types of studies should be
            developed if possible.

CORRESPONDENCE STUDIES: The training can be done at home through correspondence
or Email using study manuals and audio tapes. The practical ministry required for ministry
training should be done under the supervision of a minister if possible.

ONLINE STUDIES: People should be referred to BASIC Institute online when local training
is not available and they have access to a computer.  The practical ministry required for ministry
training should be done under the supervision of a minister if possible.

TRAINING CLASSES can be held under a tree, in a home, at a business, or in a church
building. Of course a school building is okay but not necessary. For an area school
they can be held AT VARIOUS CHURCHES in different places during the year. Short
term 1 to 3 day workshops can meet the needs of those who are unable to commit
            to long term training.

INTERN TRAININGshould be made available on a limited basis to those who would like to
join full time ministers for a week or more as they minister and/or travel.  Please write to
             BASIC Institute for details.

        8. LOCAL CHURCH LEADERS should be encouraged to set up a School of Christian Living
            and Ministry in their church.

ALLOWING BASIC INSTITUTE TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE
PREPARATION PROCESS WILL HELP ENSURE THAT
YOU HAVE ADEQUATE TRAINING TO TEACH THESE STUDIES TO OTHERS.
